Alignment of wind turbines
Our laser alignment system has been one of the leading measurement and alignment systems suppliers for the wind energy industry, both for shaft/coupling alignment and tower flange flatness assessment.
Many of the world’s largest wind turbine manufacturers, including Vestas, Siemens/Gamesa, Envision, and Gold Wind, are among our customers. Here are some examples of the services we offer.
Alignment of generator and gearbox
Standard shaft alignment systems or OEM equivalents with customized adaptations are used here. The latter is intended to accommodate a turbine manufacturer’s specified connection dimensions on many turbine types in their range. They’re designed to be used without the coupling, and the rotor is locked because of the safest position for the operator.
Our standard solution is used on other coupling designs and in situations when it is deemed safe to leave the coupling in place. According to the sector, our laser alignment systems are designed for installation and ongoing maintenance. As a result, they’re well-suited to the needs of service businesses.

Flatness measurement of tower flanges
The tower’s diameter, among other factors, determines whether or not measuring the flatness of the flanges is difficult. Smaller diameters (up to 4 meters) are typically easier to live with, with large diameters, particularly for offshore towers, necessitate a unique strategy.
Although the measurement technologies are identical, our unique sectional measurement software is ideal for large diameters. It divides the flange into four portions, then mathematically integrated to produce an overall result. There are two key benefits: the measurement isn’t affected by the flange’s weight (gravitational influence), and the technician doesn’t have to stand on a high ladder or platform. Everything is done from ground level.
For correct tower section joining, you can certify to five circles with measuring points per flange and check the flange’s flatness and angle (“taper”) relative to the flange plane. You’ll see the outcome as a 3D image within the display unit as soon as the measurement is finished, and you’ll analyze the results with several best-fit calculations for possible additional processing.
